The Whollypets mission: make pets eat real food again

You and your pet can agree ,

if they are treated like family,

they should be eating like family.

Whollypets, making balanced homemade recipes accessible & affordable .

Together, we can bring your dog's bowl back to life .

Your dog will not only TASTE but FEEL the difference!

With Whollypets, a synthetic vitamin and mineral powder is never used to "balance" the meal.

Pet owners are looking to websites like Balance It for diets not realizing that although recipes use fresh ingredients, it is not a complete diet until you add their expensive chemical product to "balance it".

Most nutritionists choose ingredients for you! Not Whollypets .

We give clients the freedom to choose from over a hundred ingredients.

A lot of homemade recipes are high carb using the wrong carbs, and done without regard for important ratios.

Because Your Pet is Worth It

Our Approach

Whollypets is your resource for pet health and wellness. Whollypets is the creator of the Whollypets Diet which is the only diet consisting of meat and vegetables. No grains, no seed oils, and no synthetics. Whollypets uses ingredients that have been researched and are carefully selected based on their health-promoting properties. These ingredients go beyond “nutritional balancing” and provide your dog with as many nutrients, antioxidants and superfoods as possible. The Whollypets Diet is balanced using nutrients from food, limiting the use of supplementation whenever possible. Most formulated diets rely heavily on supplementation (almost always synthetic) and take out the role of nutrients present in whole foods.

All diets are formulated by a Clinical Pet Nutritionist certified in Professional Canine Formulation.

Frequently Asked Qs

How do I sign up?

Signing up is easy! Just add the appropriate diet option for your dog to the cart found under “Diet Options.” Within 24 hours, an email will be sent to you with a questionnaire and a list of ingredients to choose from. Once we receive your answers, your custom recipe will be emailed within 7 business days.

What is your turnaround?

Making changes to your pet’s diet can seem challenging for many reasons. Rest assured, Whollypets will help you effortlessly transition your pet to homemade food. Your dog’s custom recipe and all accompanying information to help you get started will be emailed to you within 7 business days (2-3 business days for premade recipes).

What if I want more than 1 recipe?

Whollypets encourages pet owners to feed more than just one recipe. A variety of meats and vegetables not only excite a pet’s palate with different flavors, aromas and textures, but the rotation of proteins decreases the likelihood of developing sensitivities or boredom. Alternating proteins after your pet has transitioned to homemade food should not come with GI upset. That being said, two rotational recipes is recommended (e.g. white and red meat). Whollypets offers a discount code for returning clients within 30 days.

Do you use supplements in recipes?

Certain nutrients (calcium and iodine) must be supplemented as these nutrient requirements can only be adequately met through supplementation. Nutrients present in food is the priority when creating a diet, but when supplements are needed they are mindfully chosen for bioavailability and affordability. All supplements will be listed on the recipe with links for purchase on Amazon.

Are supplements included?

Actual supplements are not included with the purchase of diets. They are available for purchase on Amazon through link(s) provided on recipe.

Isn't homemade more expensive than commercial?

Depending on the type of commercial diet (i.e. lower quality dry food, premium dry food, lower quality wet food, premium wet food, freeze dried raw food or prescription diets) commercial diets can cost anywhere from an average of $2/lb to $35/lb. There are many factors to consider when pricing a homemade diet such as type of ingredients, ingredient quality, ingredient volume such as buying in bulk, and ingredient sourcing such as shopping at value retailers vs. specialty stores. Although a diet fed commercial dry food may be most cost effective, if health issues arise from the highly processed diet, the cost of medical visits will outweigh the cost of homemade or even premium freeze dried raw diets in the long run. With each recipe, Whollypets includes smart shopping tips to ensure your dog’s homemade diet is as low priced as possible.

My vet says to only feed commercial.

Most veterinarians are not trained to focus on nutrition. Their training has pet food industry influence which is why they believe in feeding commercial food. The interesting thing is, they advise a cooked diet of chicken and rice when animals are feeling sick.

Do you do phone consultaions?

Considering client’s different time zones and conflicting schedules, all correspondence is done through email for ease and flexibility.
